Decanta privacy policy
Decanta is a puzzle game for iPhone, also playable on its website, decanta.jonathas.net, made by Jonathas Costa (“we”). This page says what the game does with information about you.
What the game keeps
Your progress (levels, best times, your win streaks, the days solved, your league and its points, how far you got in an event) and your settings are kept on your device only. We have no servers: none of it is sent to us or to anyone else. There is no account, and the game has no analytics. Deleting the app deletes them; on the website, clearing the site’s data in your browser (its cookies and site data for decanta.jonathas.net) does.
Ads in the iPhone app
The iPhone app shows ads from Google AdMob: one after a board is solved, and a rewarded ad when you ask for a new hint or for the extra tube. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google’s software in the app may collect your IP address and the approximate location it reveals, information about your device and the app, and how you interact with ads. With your permission it also uses your device’s advertising identifier, which can personalise ads.
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and places with similar laws, the app asks for your consent first. You can change your choices at any time in the game’s Settings, under Privacy choices.
- iOS asks whether Decanta may track you across apps and websites. If you say no, the advertising identifier is not used. You can change this in the iPhone’s Settings, under Privacy & Security, Tracking.
The app sends information only to Google, which may share it with its advertising partners, as its policy and the consent message describe. Google protects that information under its own privacy policy, with the same care or more than this page describes. Google’s use of this information is governed by its own policy: Google Privacy Policy, and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
The website
The website, decanta.jonathas.net, keeps your progress in your browser’s storage only. It shows ads from Google AdSense: one after a board is solved, a rewarded ad when you ask for a new hint or for the extra tube, and, on a wide window, one beside the board. To show and measure them and to prevent fraud, Google may collect your IP address and the approximate location it reveals, information about your browser and device, and how you interact with ads. The website is hosted on GitHub Pages, which logs visitors’ IP addresses for security, under GitHub’s privacy statement.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to decanta.jonathas.net or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies enable it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to decanta.jonathas.net and other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google’s Ads Settings, and out of some other vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and places with similar laws, the website asks for your consent first, and ads are personalised only with it; you can change your choices at any time in the game’s Settings, under Privacy choices. Google’s policies above govern its use of this information.
Children
Decanta is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
